At Mount Sinai's Flexible Sensors Lab, part of the Biomedical Engineering and Imaging Institute, I worked as a CAD design intern on the hardware side of clinical wearables. I designed CAD models for custom medical monitor enclosures and carried them through 3D printing, molding, and resin casting to produce functional prototypes for the clinical team. Several of these prototypes were later adapted for use in actual clinical trials.

I also worked directly under Zahi Fayed, the lab's head, helping research and develop an early prototype wristband for the lab's Digital Twin project. That work required iterating quickly on form factor and sensor placement while keeping the device comfortable enough for a patient to wear for extended periods. It was my first exposure to engineering where user comfort and trust mattered as much as the numbers, and it has shaped how I approach hardware design ever since.
